SSL and TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content that you send to us as a site operator, our website uses SSL encryption. Registration on our web sites
You can register on our website. The transmitted data are used exclusively in order to make contact and for service purposes. All compulsory information requested during registration must be given in full, failing which we will reject the registration.

We store the personal data collected during the registration for a limited period of 10 years, after which they will be anonymised. Your data will be deleted earlier should you actively cancel your registration.

The legally regulated retention periods will remain unaffected.
Date collected during the registration will never be provided to a third party.
Storage duration of registration comments
Posts and registration comments will be anonymised and saved permanently. The content remains on our website until it has been completely deleted or deleted for legal reasons. The registrant expressly agrees to the use during the registration process.

Newsletter data
To send our newsletter, we need your e-mail address. Verification of the specified e-mail address is necessary and receipt of the newsletter must be agreed. Supplementary data are not collected unless volunteered. The use of data is exclusively for the dispatch of the newsletter.
The data provided in the newsletter registration are processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Article 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).Revocation of consent previously given is possible at any time by way of an informal message by e-mail or signing up via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of the already completed data processing remains unaffected by such revocation.
Data entered to set up the subscription will be deleted in the event of cancellation. If these data have been sent to us for other purposes and elsewhere they will remain with us.
Registration for workshop visit
To register for one of our workshop visits on the last Friday of each month, we collect the postal and email addresses of each applicant. This information is important in confirming the validity of the application and facilitates contact, processing of subsequent questions and an intended purchase.
The processing of the entered data takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent (Article 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). Revocation of consent previously given is possible at any time by way of an informal message by e-mail. The legality of the already completed data processing remains unaffected by such revocation. Upon revocation, you will be logged off from the workshop visit.
If a guitar order arises, the contact details will be forwarded to a dealer, by whom the guitar purchase will be handled. The potential guitar buyer selects the dealer and is notified of this transfer process. The basis for this is Article 6 para. 1 lit. b and f GDPR.
All data collected for the workshop visit are stored for a period of 1 year and then recursively removed by an automated deletion routine.
Application for a CITES attestation
On our website so-called attestations (proofs) with CITES-relevant information regarding the wood used for our guitar models can be requested. These attestations are issued in the form of a PDF. For this process personal data such as physical and email addresses of the respective applicant are collected. These data are stored for 1 year at Lakewood Guitars and are then automatically deleted.
The storage serves the personal identification and facilitates communication during and after this process.

Signing in to the Lakewood online forum
The Lakewood Online Forum uses the open source software phpbb of phpbb Limited UK, which however has no legal persona and is not liable for its open source software.
This software has been implemented to the best of our knowledge and ability on the Lakewood website. No personal data will be transmitted to third parties. All recommended security measures are followed.
The use of the online forum without registration is limited to the mere reading of content contributed by the community. Active participation in discussions is not possible. For active participation (writing contributions) registration is necessary, with resulting collection of personal data.
The processing of data entered by users takes place exclusively on the basis of explicit consent (Article 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). Revocation of consent previously given is possible at any time by way of an informal message by e-mail. Each user can log out of the forum independently (all data will be deleted). Alternatively, an informal message by email is sufficient. The legality of the already completed data processing remains unaffected by such revocation.

Our website allows payment via PayPal. The payment service provider is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.

The transmission of your data to PayPal is in terms of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR (consent) and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (processing in order to fulfil a contract). Storage of data for billing purposes (contract fulfilment)
For the fulfilment of orders and the subsequent billing we maintain customer data in customary commercial documents such as order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices in compliance with statutory retention periods.
Our primary customers are commercial dealers (music retailers) but in the case of accessories and merchandise could be individual end users such as parties who purchase products for personal use or minor resale.
For commercial customers, we maintain customer bases to which specific customer numbers are allocated and whose their data is stored permanently or at least for the required statutory periods.
End users are not recorded in our customer bases i.e. we do not store their customer data permanently in our inventory management EDP, but only during the billing period in documents required for accounting purposes (invoices, delivery notes, etc.).
The basis of this data processing is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b GDPR (processing in order to fulfil a contract)
Storage of data for the purpose of other order processing
For the fulfillment of repair orders, we store personal data of end users in our EDP. These data remain permanently in storage for the purpose of service improvement (e.g. by speeding up or creating / providing repair history).
The registered guitars themselves do not have to comply with the storage of their serial number.
None of this data will be provided to third parties.
The basis for this storage is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (processing to fulfil a contract on request of the affected person). The affected person may subsequently (after fulfilment of the contract) demand the deletion of personal data at any time by email or in writing to the data protection contact addresses.
